The Register aims to be a central repository for information on the emigrant families of those with Scottish forebears of the surnames Livingstone, Livingston, MacLea, McLea, McLay, McClea, McClay, McLae, or the like. Anyone with a similar surname, or a tradition of being descended from one of these family names, is welcome to use the Registry!
Note that several people of the surname Boggs, which was perhaps taken from a locale in Northern Ireland, where a Livingston/e family settled for a time, have a tradition of being related to the Livingstones. More telling, the DNA of several participants in the McLea DNA project has matched several Livingstones, which adds fact to the family lore. As such, all Boggs are welcome to add their information here as well!
